Ketamine Assisted Somatic Mindfulness Session

(KASM)

“I believe that somatics and mindfulness weave together two powerful modalities—offering a path for the emergence of hidden facets of the self. While many individuals experience profound growth through these practices alone, I’ve found that, for some, the thoughtful inclusion of safely administered psychotropic medicine can deepen the process. In a well-held space, it becomes not just an enhancement—but a doorway into deeper layers of healing, awareness, and inner connection.”

What does a Ketamine Session look like?

  • Initial Session (60 minutes)

Your journey with Ketamine-Assisted Somatic Mindfulness (KASM) begins with a 60-minute in-person session at the clinic with myself and Dr. Kristian Flores, M.D., N.D., my collaborating medical partner in KASM work.

This initial meeting is designed to ensure your safety, readiness, and comfort before beginning any ketamine-assisted sessions. Together, we will:

Build trust and connection, creating a safe and grounded therapeutic space

Review your personal and medical history, including any relevant emotional or psychological experiences

Explore your intentions, expectations, and concerns, including how you relate to fear, anxiety, and the unknown

Clarify the role of somatic facilitation, including how I hold space and support the process before, during, and after sessions

Provide an overview of the KASM experience, including what to expect during your sessions and how integration will be supported

Review informed consent, including your rights, safety protocols, ethical guidelines, and the importance of choice, agency, and mutual agreements

This session is an essential part of the process and helps us attune to your unique needs as we move forward together.

  • Part 1: Somatic Intention Setting

This portion focuses on connecting with your inner guidance and building supportive resources for the journey. Together, we will:

Clarify your intention for the session by gently exploring what you are seeking or what is asking to be seen

Map your personal narrative, including your current emotional, spiritual, and somatic resources (such as breathwork, meditation, or spiritual practices)

Identify supportive relationships or community anchors that may aid your integration process

Establish integration tools, including practices and reminders to support you after the session

    Part 2: Orientation & Logistics

This part ensures you feel prepared and supported in every practical way. We will:

    • Review the structure and flow of your upcoming KASM session

    • Go over what to bring, how to prepare, and what to expect

    • Discuss aftercare guidelines, including integration support and ways to care for yourself post-session

  • KASM Session Structure

Each Ketamine-Assisted Somatic Mindfulness (KASM) session is designed with care, spaciousness, and presence to support your full experience—from intention to integration.

    1. Intention Remembering (15 minutes)

We begin with a grounding practice or guided visualization to gently reconnect with your intention and settle into the session. This helps bring clarity and emotional presence as we enter the medicine space.

    2. Ketamine Session (45–60 minutes)

The ketamine is administered intravenously in a safe, clinical setting. During this time, you will be supported in a calm and grounded environment, with somatic presence held throughout.

    3. Post-Session Integration (45 minutes)

Once the medicine journey concludes, we remain in session for somatic integration and reflection. Together, we will:

    • Gently begin the process of meaning-making and emotional grounding

    • Revisit your integration resources to help what arose settle into the body and psyche

Schedule a follow-up integration session within one week to continue the unfolding and deepen the work

  • Integration Session

Integration is a vital part of the healing process. After a KASM session, the integration session helps bridge the insights from the ketamine experience into your daily life—so they can take root in a meaningful and embodied way.

During our 60-minute Integration Session, we will:

Explore the themes and imagery that emerged during your journey, gently gathering information about what felt significant or surprising

    • Engage in somatic inquiry, noticing what sensations, movements, or emotional residues are still present in the body

    • Reflect on insights or inner shifts that may have occurred, and begin to understand how they relate to your life, relationships, and personal path

    • Begin building a framework for continued integration, drawing on the resources and practices we’ve established together

These sessions are a space of grounded reflection, compassionate witnessing, and intentional meaning-making. They support you in carrying the medicine’s wisdom forward with care and clarity.

  • Ongoing KASM Sessions

Each additional Ketamine-Assisted Somatic Mindfulness (KASM) session includes dedicated support before and after the medicine journey to ensure continued safety, depth, and integration.

    30-minute Preparation Session

We begin with somatic intention setting—reconnecting to your current emotional landscape and clarifying what feels most alive or relevant in this next phase of your journey.

    30-minute Integration Session

Following the KASM session, we meet again to gently process the experience, explore what’s emerging in the body and psyche, and support the continued unfolding of insight and healing.

This rhythm of preparation and integration creates a grounded, heart-centered container that honors the transformative potential of each session.

Every additional KASM session includes a preparation session with somatic intention setting (30 minutes) as well as an integration session post KASM session (30 minutes)
